Shelley Lewis was born and grew up deep in the heart of hostile Red State territory--Omaha, Nebraska. At an early age she was embraced by an elite, super-secretive society known as Liberals. She graduated from New York University's School of the Arts and spent several decades as a writer and executive producer of news programs for Mainstream Media, working at two of the three major networks and a certain Cable News Network, until she'd finally had enough and left the MSM to co-create and launch Air America Radio. Some of her best friends are conservatives. She and her husband, the painter Dennis Kardon, live in New York City. They have a daughter at the University of Chicago.
